 Cherry Valley is the home to several neighborhood parks as well as beautiful Baumann Park in the center of the old historic Cherry Valley.

General Restrictions

The following activities and uses in the parks will be prohibited.  Signs will be posted at the entrance  to each park in Cherry Valley restating the following:

•   The sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages is prohibited.
 •    Swimming or wading in any water way in Cherry Valley is prohibited.
 •    Littering in the parks is prohibited.  Place any trash in litter receptacles.  
•    Camping is not permitted.
 •    No boats are allowed on Baumann Lake.  This includes sail boards.
 •    No firearms are allowed in the Village parks.
 •    No glass containers are allowed in the Village parks for your protection.

Winter Activities

The following winter activities are prohibited within Baumann Park:

•    Snowmobiling
 •    Down hill skiing.

Picnic Restrictions:

•    Picnics within the Village Parks shall be in designated picnic areas only.
 •    Picnickers must leave the area in a clean condition.   That means removing garbage and all other debris.
 •    Open fires are expressly prohibited except for designated barbecue pits located at the Pavilion.  If you use a  charcoal fire at the park, do not dispose of the charcoal in the river, lake or normal trash receptacles.  Completely extinguish all fires prior to departure.

Fishing

•  All State of Illinois regulations apply.  This includes licenses, seasons, limits and legal sizes.  You may link to the Illinois Department of Natural Resources  for more information.
 •    The use of set lines, unattended lines and seines are prohibited.
 •    Worms are the only live bait permitted.
 •    No fish of any kind may be introduced into Baumann Lake. This protects the balance of life in the lake.
 •    Ice fishing is prohibited.
 •    Irrespective of State restrictions, Cherry Valley has set the following restrictions:
  Bass - 1 per person per day, 16" minimum
  Bluegill - 10 per person per day
  Northern Pike - 1 per person per day, 36" minimum

Hours of Operation

All Parks located within the Village of Cherry Valley are open daily from daylight to dusk.

Shelter and Pavilion Rentals

You may rent the Gazebo or Pavilion by contacting the village hall at 332-3441.  Requests will be granted on a first come first serve basis.  Fees are as follows:  $20.00 per day for Residents;  $40.00 per day for Non-Residents
